Really?! Who in their right mind would jump into Antarctic waters hovering at freezing temperatures? Turns out, a lot of crazy—or fearless—people. A part of me wanted to do this, just to experience it and to survive something really, really scary and really, really cold. But my practical brain took over. Not this time.
Our friend and honorary Penguinista, Iris, took the brave step and survived. Yay!

Couples and entire families took the plunge. For safety reasons, they had to do it solo—no double jumping—while strapped to a hefty harness and safety line.

After taking the plunge…shots and hugs!
The hard-working crew who set up the plunge activity, waited patiently in rocking Zodiacs or on the platform for each passenger to make the jump and ensure their safety coming aboard. The wind was blowing, it was snowing and above water, the temperature was below freezing. All in a day’s work for these intrepid crew members.
You really captured the incredible energy of these fools! ( I kinda wanted to... but Sensible Brain overruled Fool Brain.
